Document Summary

Morality and ethics: morality and morals apply to what is considered ethical behaviour (immorality refers to immoral behaviour. ) The word "morality" is often used to describe someone who lacks the ability to make decisions about meaning and distinguish right from wrong. To many, ethics has come to mean the definition of particular c activities within a discipline as being right and wrong. The medical profession, for example, observes the hippocratic oath, which is a statement of rules and standards of conduct for doctors to obey in their everyday practices; it specifies correct actions and objectives. In fact, most professions do have their own set of ethical principles or ethical canons. Such guidelines for these occupations are generally included in codes of ethics. Clearly there is a fine line between one"s private life and one"s public life in occupations that include public trust, such as politics, education, and the clergy.
