Document Summary

Sometimes our expectation about the social world get in the way of our accurate perception of it. Our expectation can even change the nature of the social world. Making it look as if tests were accurate. When people experience a loss of control, such that they believe they little or no influence over weather good or bad things happen to them, there are a number of important consequences. Natural selection the process by which heritable traits that promote survival in a particular environment are passed along to future generations, because organisms with that trait are more likely to reproduce. Evolutionary psychology the attempt to explain social behavior in terms of genetic factors that evolved over time according to the principles of natural selection. Evolution occurs very slowly, such that social behaviors that are prevalent today are due at least in part to adaptation to environments in our distant past.
