Remains a jew/ embraces jesus as messiah. Paul understood: apostle: one who is sent out, disciple: a learner or a follower. Righteousness is achieved by admitting one"s inability to achieve righteousness without god. Faith is trust in god that god acts in our behalf to make us upright. Living a moral life- response to god"s grace: freedom and love, activity of holy spirit, church as the body of christ. Baptism and eucharist are the sacramental expression of community"s life in christ. Christ takes on the curse of the law. All care for needs of the others. Baptism: die to sin/ rise to new life in christ jesus. Eucharist: participation in the body of christ as equals for the good of each other. Christian community of both gentiles and jews. Held christian prophet in place of honor and authority. Famous christian writers: clement of alexandria, origen, athanasius.
