Article: traditional native dance:past and present (on blackboard!!) They use dance to express ideas,history, and culture. To represent the culture and tradition of the group. They try to keep traditional stories present and alive in their music. They creates a balance between old and new in order to make sure the dance survives and thrives through history. They are losing alot of their traditions with the modernization of dancing and they lost a lot when the settlers tried to wipe away their traditions- that led to recreating their traditional dances and songs. Dance in polynesian society (hawaii) what is the importance of that dance to that identity of hawaiian people. Song identity and pure vocalism** can be words that are no longer used but maintained throughout the centuries. Description of kinesthetic awareness or reaction- sensory stimulation such as sight touch turning into transformation. Aesthetic- perception of beauty based on world view.
