Early development of the social frame attraction to faces! Tendency to seek faces is part of the typical human experience. Fusiform contributes to seeing faces in inanimate objects- it organizes things that kind of look like the middle of your face into a face like object. Lack of face inversion effect: present b 6 months in td, people with asd don"t show selective attention in upright or inverted faces. Differences in where faces processed in brain (fusiform gyrus) Same or different: people, objects, patterns. Regions of interest: fusiform gyrus (face, inferior temporal gyrus (objects) Nothing else is really different in td and asd. But it"s a slow measure and its good at telling you where. Which is why we compliment fmri with eeg bc it tracts with real time regarding when certain activations are happening. Erp difference in autism and td is 20 m?secs. autism is slower.
