Any sort of disruption or change in voice quality. Loudness, pitch and quality are used to describe how we perceiving a normal voice. Nasal endoscopy and what it can tell you about voice health. Had her sniff through both nostrils to see which one was clearer. Put a sheath on to make sure it was sanitary. Put some petroleum jelly or vaseline on to make it easier to slide through. Can be used during student and professional singers when they are singing. Fundamental frequency (pitch: males 125 hz, females 225 hz, children 300 hz, the higher the frequency the higher the perceived pitch. Vocal folds behave like strings: determinants of frequency in strings, length, mass (thickness, tension if something is tighter then you will have elongated vocal folds and faster vibrations. Discrete/diffuse tissue enlargement: reduction in tissue- atrophy. Increased muscle activity- hyper function: reduced muscle activating hypo function, muscle dysfunction- myopathy, psychological disorders.
