Mexican americans had the right to vote. Lived in monterrey before moving to cali and was from a very wealthy family and was fascinated by european culture. Born as the son of a military officer. Ranches were like their own mini economies. As anglos are moving west, not only are americans meeting people who are meeting. You employed people, native americans established political governments. As anglos poured into california, they were searching for gold and mandates were passed that anyone who was white did not have access to the mines. During the gold rush, 300 mexican americans were lynched. Message sent from lynching did not stop with just the act, Applied to chinese immigrants who were employed to dig in the mines.
