Example: logic of participation, think through and be able to apply the theory (downs theory) Policy and politics can be studied systematically and empirically. Political scientist are trying to draw imperially valid points. Local level matters most for the majority of our lives. Governments can be organic or exogenous or endogenous. Tradeoffs between current and future generations in the economy. Governments act like businesses when it comes to money. Voting is driven by duty mostly, patriotism, etc. State and national level voting has less impact. Participation in local government can have a big impact on your family and friends. Local government is the area for higher politics. Party idea = people vote because of this. The majority of americans are ignorant in politics. 90% of americans are ignorant in political matters.
