Archie parr orphan, born the beginning of the civil war, childhood was during the reconstruction of texas after the civil war, the southern part of the state was conflicted. He worked as a farmer with a lot of mexicans, and gained their trust, but they were not active in politics. In his early 20s he went into politics, and got all of the mexican americans to register and vote. 1907 there was a race for county judge between parr and the tax assessor. Parr could get 90% of the mexican vote, which was a minority but was able to ensure that we was elected to anywhere.
