Power is essential when it comes to politics, how does it influence. Need proof to back up what you say. Systematic knowledge building on knowledge over time. Must have these qualities to be a science: Understand the world better and make it better. What issues can we study scientifically? (which is most appropriate) Why some people are republican: demographic area, parents, social media. Why and when some countries engage in wars: ethnic conflicts, economic gain, retaliation. Step 1: making arguments theory & hypothesis. Step 2: providing evidence for the arguments hypothesis testing. Build a systematic evidence to prove argument is true. Making arguments: independent variable, dependent variable, causal story (cause & effect) Providing evidence for the arguments: operationalization, measurement, data, statistical analysis. Topic: testing the theory of political attitudes and 209ers and their acquaintances. Read through chapter 1 again with a new focus and think about what my topic will be.
