Climate change impacts on people, places, and environment. Change in global or regional climate patterns, in a particular change apparent from the mid to late 20th, century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of atmosphere carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. Earth: however, buildup of greenhouse gases can change the earth"s climate and result in dangerous effects to human health and welfare and to ecosystems. Proof of climate change: global average temperature increases more than 1. 4 degrees fahrenheit over the last century. Who"s tracking climate change: intergovernmental panel on climate change (ipcc): Established by united nations, ipcc assesses the scientific and socioeconomic information relevant to climate change. Also looks at the potential impacts of climate change and options for slowing it down or adapting to it. Despite the international scientific community"s consensus on climate change, a small number of critics continue to deny that climate change exists that humans are causing it.
