Surge in social psych research in 1930s - 1970s. Kurt lewin - founding father of social psych and coined the interactionist perspective (relationship between individual and environment. Hilter - seen as primary gure championing the social psychology movement. Mainly because many psychologists from europe ed to the us and resulted in a proliferation in social psych research.
