Obviously, they"re covered with epidermis derived from ectoderm, but the bulk of them are formed from mesoderm. Teratogens are things (usually chemicals) that cause birth defects. It was used to treat morning sickness in the 1950"s but affected development of the limb buds resulting in flipper-like appendages. All major regions of brain present by week 8 (a&p i) Liver produces blood cells by week 8. The first eight weeks are a critical time for organogenesis, the formation of organ systems.
