Read ws 34 (****30) carefully as an introduction to professional/ clinical reasoning. Especially note table 34-1, which summarizes the 8 aspects!! Process that is used to plan, direct, perform and reflect on client care. Scientific - applied logical and scientific methods such as hypothesis testing, patent recognition, theory based decision making and statistical evidence. Diagnostic - investigate reasoning and analysis of cause or nature of conditions requiring ot intervention can be considered one complaint of scientific reasoning. Procedural - reasoning in which therapist considered and uses intervention routines for identified conditions. May be science based or may reflect the habits and culture of intervention setting. Pragmatic - practical reasoning that is used to fit therapy possibilities into the current realities of service deliver such as scheduling options, payment for services, equipment availability, therapists skills, management directives and the personal situation of the therapist.
