Western values (quick thinking versus reflection, speaking assertively) are considered important. Moods- diffuse, long-lasting emotional states that influence rather than interrupt though. Emotions- specific, in response to events in particular environment, interrupt or trigger changes in behavior, more intense. General feeling state that provides the raw material for emotions and moods. We feel guilt when we feel responsible for the negative affective state of someone else.
