Self-awareness looks at whether we are aware of our qualities or not and whether others are aware as well (or not) Unskilled and unaware: participants who were bad at judging humor were unaware that they were bad. People who do well slightly underestimate their performance: people who do poorly overestimate their performance. They realize they aren"t the funniest, but think they are about average, while experts think they are not funny at all. Ill work hard in school now, so i can have a reliable paycheck one day. Ill pass on the cupcake and eat healthy so i can be skinny for spring break. Kids given one marshmallow are told if they don"t eat it they"ll get two when the experimenter comes back. The kids are very stressed out: keep smelling and touching it even kissing it. Personality and relationships: do opposites attract or do birds of a feather flock together.
