Attention to certai kinds of stimuli, not just faces. 6 month olds are sensitive to difference in didtntity for monkeys and humans: can tell difference between monkeys and humans, evolutionary ancient thing that is shared with non-human relatives-- broad. 9 months olds sensitive to indifity only for humans: get habituatated to humans, so cant tell difference with monkeys. 5 months infants are surpirsied when hands reaches in and has a new goal.
