KNES 385 Lecture 1: Week 1
Document Summary
Define, compare and contrast: motor learning, control, coordination, skill and ability. Motor control: understanding how neuromuscular system functions to activate/ coordinate muscles and limbs involved in performance of a motor skill. Involved with how well a person can do a skill. Coordinate- patterning of body and limb motions relative to each other and the environmental objects, relative is most important part of definition (cid:858) Spacial patterning: two segments must be aligned or in sync to be coordinated. Temporal: two body segments or two things have to be aligned in the right time. Parts of the brain to learn and understand. Motor learning: study of the processes involved in acquiring and refining motor skills that promote or inhibit the acquisition. Understanding how skills can be developed or hindered based on learning and motor control. A skill i think i possess: photography. Action or task that has a specific goal. Performed voluntarily (no reflexes or automatic responses)
