Introduction: statement of if you will agree of disagree or evaluate. Sociology as a tool for gaining an objective understanding of society. There are 3 levels of social context: Narrow: your social location (the most important for sociologist), where you are located as an individual within a society -> personal characteristics: age, race, ethnicity, marital status, economic status, and religion. Social location shapes what you think and what you do. Sociologist can make predictions about a group of people, no as an individual but as a prediction.
