Most of theatre in america today grew out of the traditions begun in ancient greece. Traditions and/or practices that originated in europe, and then spread to north america and other areas colonized by europeans. The storytelling process is a group effort. Hopi indians create their festival performances together. Community is the author of the play. Our lives, our culture, are composed of many overlapping stories. Have you ever been labeled with someone else"s single story. Drama is built through character action and dialogue - the cs p. 373. Play= a representation of human beings in action. Action= what characters do and why they do it. Deliberate shape or organization that reveals purpose. Plot - a literary term used to describe the events that make up a story o the main part of the story. These events relate to each other in a pattern or a sequence.
