Doping: used to refer to any practice involving prohibited substances or other methods to give an athlete an unfair advantage over other competitors. Argued that the first instance of doping occurred in the garden of eden when adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit to gain godlike powers. In ancient games, athletes would try to improve performance by studying techniques and by experiencing with diet among other things. The goal of most users back then was to increase strength or to overcome fatigue, today we classify them as anabolic and stimulants. Stimulants were used in ancient times from plant origins: mushrooms and coca leaves were used to increase endurance, heighten cognitive state and protect against sickness. The last half of the 19th century saw the beginning of modern medicine and not coincidentally, due to a significant growth in the use of drugs and other substances to improve performance.
