Looks for others to comfort them but then pushes them away. Afraid to be too close or too distant. Often desires comfort but doesn"t believe they deserve it. Securely attached children are more attentive, participatory, receive better grades. Non-secure leads to hostility towards other children. Language and movement starts to develop at 18 months. Preoperational stage (18-24 months to age 7) Language, memory, imagination, and awareness of time develop. Concrete operational stage (age 7 to 12)
