Gerunds are not verbs: take an acion verb such as run, hip, pain, skate, or twerk and add ing to the end and you get a gerund, which is not a verb. If that word starts a sentence, it"s a gerund (verbs are underlined): Paining is what picasso was best known for. Skaing seems harder than it looks: if it follows an acion verb (especially one expressing preference), it"s a gerund: Ininiives are also not verbs: if you take a verb and add to before it, it becomes a noun. The real verb in each sentence is underlined: To go to london and france as a hand model is his dream. Acion verbs and linking verbs: acion verbs. Ex: walk, smile, dance, scamper: linking verbs. Connect the subject with something that describes it (an adjecive or another noun)
