Now we just see traces of reality peeking through. The real is a thing that still exists. But it copies itself on models of reality. The relationship between an object and its representation. Example: this is a pen but it isn"t. It is a picture of a pen. It is not a real pen though. Used to be that you do not participate. Now it is that you must participate! The media we use today all require this labor and participation from us. Life becomes what we do, instead of what we think. Life becomes defined by participation in the culture industry. Depends on the capacity to control meaning. Remember that your life doesn"t need to be sponsored by someone. Remember that your life doesn"t need to be a streak.
