will become even more so in future years

process of globalization
not just diversity of colleagues
but also new business markets, developing new products for differing cultural contexts,
and marketing products in culturally appropriate and effective ways

ethnocentrism, meaning that we assume, subconsciously, that the way we do thing is
the only way and best way
Defining Culture
“learned patterns of perception, values, and behaviors, shared by a group of people,
that are dynamic and heterogenous”
unique ways we learned to eat, sleep, love, talk
sort of lens reveal the world. the difficulty is trying to understand our own culture, look
at our glasses without taking them off
a group experience because it is shared who live in and share the same social
environment
