EDUC 107 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Neuroplasticity, Dynamical System, Mary Ainsworth
Document Summary
Brain plasticity- the ability of the brain to modify as the babied experience more things o o o o. Modifiability- all though cells are predestine for specific functions, they can still be changed. Compensation- a kind of plasticity where cells can substitute for other permitting recovery of functions, after loss or damage. Example- the little girl that had to take one side of the brain. Because she is little her brain is much easier to mold. Experience-expectant process- prewired processes in the brain, just have to have that experience, just need to see stuff or hear stuff. crawling. Experience-dependent processes- these are processes in the brain that involve the active formation of new synaptic connections in response to the individuals unique experiences. Dynamic system theory- changes in one area influence changes in another. As you develop one thing you can develop another. Babies can pick up contrast, love bright colors too.
