Development should study kids in context if we really wanna understand development. Children are nested with in social structures that are meaningful- child is in case in different systems. We need to look at all the systems and context. Biological/ child -everything you bring to the table (from biological stand point) The microsystem- everything that is in close proximity to the child - people around you and things around you too. Or the values of your home and the values of school. Parents interaction with things with in the army when they go to war. Parents gets yelled at in her workplace- she can take it out on her kid her kid. Macrosystem- influences everything throughout the system- dominant beliefs and ideology - big culture/ subculture. The stigma in movies- like racial stigmas or chauvinism. Chronosystem - sociohistorical conditions and time since life events. Historical time- movie in the 50s and now.
