Document Summary

Main issue today has to do with arrivals, origins of native americans, dispersion of population throughout americas, population figures. Historical problem: for most of american history in california, native. We see this in early drawings, paintings, lithographs of native americans. Shows nothing of fact that they"ve survived and thrived in california for about 10,000 years. Most of us know that there was a land bridge connecting americas and asia. Not completely sure when but we know for sure that there was because ocean levels were lower. What we think happened was that very small bands of people possibly following game into alaska not huge groups of people. Archaeologists have found carbon dating that show that this dispersal kind of happened really fast along the coast before spreading out everywhere else . Moving along coastline in the water probably in very small watercrafts. This is a much easier way to transport your people and your goods.
