Commandments of action or refraining from action govern everyday life, both social and personal. Defines holiness through performance of religious duties. What is hateful to you, to your fellow don t do. Basic summary of the torah, but the details and other messages must not be ignored. There is cultural bias that comes out of this through the millennia. Essential to judaism: theology and law, ethics and ritual, rite and right. Love for mother and father in equality, not one over the other. Sanctification of the 7th day takes a huge importance on way of life. Sign of the covenant; sign of choiceness of israel.
