Disciplines of the imaginations, variety of debates. Diff view of how you should study and why. The humanities are characterized are not so much by their objects of study. The disciplines teach the diff types of reading practices. Reading in the sense of decoding and recoding. Into it goes historically informed research as well as the presentation of a coherent and carefully argued line that has taken account of alternatives (375) But intellectual work is a human work and thus worldly, that is situated in the world, and about the world. (375) After 9/11 - the good of empire. Only promoting minority names doesn"t cut it.
