The disciplines teach the diff types of reading practices. Reading in the sense of decoding and recoding. Into it goes historically informed research as well as the presentation of a coherent and carefully argued line that has taken account of alternatives (375) But intellectual work is a human work and thus worldly, that is situated in the world, and about the world. (375) After 9/11 - the good of empire. Only promoting minority names doesn"t cut it.
