Mandela stated that he formed armed wing because violence by african people was inevitable. They believed that south africa belonged to everyone. The african national congress was formed to defend the rights of african people affected by south africa act and native land act. Mandela was interested in a classless society but he insisted they weren"t marxists. They were not mad that whites were richer than blacks but that there were laws that continued this. Father hughes was a preacher who came every sunday. They wanted to get mandela out of prison to kill him ( boss) Swapop (south- west african people"s organization ) freedom fighters. Mandela was selected to represent all prisoners by judge. The prisoners educated each other about the anc. He made it clear that they weren"t communists. There was a lot of violence while he was in jail. Black consciousness movement : lacks must first liberate themselves from the sense of inferiority from whites.
