A lot more old people now than there use to be. There are much less babies, more old people. More men than women- 2. 1 is needed to even out. There was a population pyramid- more youth then elder. Now its starting to even out so that it looks like there is going to be more older people. Its narrowing out and more older people will be in japan. Problem with who will be taking care of them. We need to think more about older people. The start getting lonely--but actually they are less then college age. There kids dying before them is there biggest fear. 2nd is to die in a lot of pain. The compression of morbidity- are we delaying the illnesses that are causing. The compression of morbidity- are we delaying the illnesses that are causing these impairments. Functional health is what they are more worried about - 50% can"t do all of these.
