Accommodation is a modification process in which an existing schema is changed or modified to make sense of something that is new and different. Daughter calls a cat a dog because it has 4 legs you tell you daughter not that is a cat. Disequilibrium is a state of cognitive conflict that arises when ones existing way of thinking is not confirmed by experiences confirmed by experiences. Using assimilation and accommodation a person can more form disequilibrium to equilibrium.
