Patient says whatever comes into their mind in a completely candid and uncensored manner. Thoughts may be childhood memories, dreams, recent experiences. Analysts usually sit out of patient"s view. The blocking from the consciousness of anxiety-laden material. Analysts notes resistances, dream meanings, or other significant behavior and events in order to provide insight. Patients transfer to the analyst of emotions linked with other relationships.
