Prohibits gender wage differences in the same establishment who perform jobs that require equal skill, effort, and responsibility and are working under similar conditions. This act does not guarantee the same pay all the time because other factors help determine employee"s pay rate. Family and medical leave act (provision under fsla) Requires employers to allow employees of up to 12 weeks of unpaid job-protection leave each year at least 1 yr. of yr. that includes at least 1250 hours of work. 12 weeks can include sick leave and vacation time already provided by employer. The weeks are used for birth or care of an infant, adopting or accepting a foster child, taking care of a sick family member, or if the employee has a serious health condition.
