Document Summary
Nature of criminality and characteristics that determine how rare it is. These factors helps us to further understand that people may possess/lack certain genetic makeup or hormones that trigger criminality in person. Inherent criminality : this takes away the choice in the individual to engage in criminal behavior. This explanation comes from the emergence of science; evolutionary theory. Crime is about the actor involved in the crime; not the act itself. Positivist school derives from three major anthropologists famous for their studies in criminology. Cesare lombroso (founding father of modern criminology) Lombroso suggested that criminality is set out by a numerous of stigmata features(phenotypic) that tell who is a criminal and what type of criminal they are. There isn"t anything biologically inherent to criminal behavior in people but there are still certain biological and phenotypic features that may explain their behavior. This theory mainly applies to criminal categorized as insane .
