Act only in accordance with that maxim through which you can at time will that it becomes a universal law. If you have good will, you do what is good. Doing the good thing you see is good. The goodwilled person is someone who performs actions for the sake of it being good. The goodwilled person may also be conforming to principle for the sake of conforming to principle. If doing goodwill is for the sake of health and not for principle, the action of helping others is not really good to any other force. If sympathy is a part of helping, then it"s not really helping at all. People may to motivated to do good because they are drawn towards the needs of others. The goodwill person may care, but the caring may not motivate the action. Actions of complying with principle will help my understanding of the principle.
