Document Summary

Lecture 15: learning lecture part ii - 3. 7. 17. There are a number of proteins in different types of cells which get turned on as a result of cre. Cre: dna sequence that tagged regulatory protein binds to. The genes for all of these proteins whose transcription is caused by camp have a similar set of dna bases just upstream of them: Sequence on dna is called cre sequence (camp responsive element) Going fishing for creb (protein when tagged, will stick to the cre sequence) Tagged creb protein will stick to the cre dna sequence. Grind up the tissue expected to have creb tissue in it. Mix it up with synthesized cre molecules made radioactive, camp, the tag itself (phosphate molecule), and the known enzyme that enables camp caused sticking of tag to creb. Allowed tagged creb molecules to bind to radioactive cre sequences.
