Document Summary

Draws on hegel but also opposes him. Idea that behind material world there"s a human spirit progressing over the course of history. What we see in material world is just a development of the human spirit. Dialect (from hegel) - a way of thinking that identifies an opposition / contradiction between two things and then finds its resolution. Opposition: slaves are not free, masters free, masters have power over slaves. Resolution: destruction of two categories, both master and slaves must be put on the same level. Says only resolution is to have a huge revolution, make society equal, get. Humans are the ones creating ideas about spiritual things, philosophies, Feuerbach is influenced by hegel, but didn"t accept all his beliefs. Says christians believe god came first and humans are created in his image. But thinks humans created god as the image they wanted and made him up to. Thing that humans created actually controls/dominates them.
