The link between organisms environment and between the nervous system and the eco system. The part of an organism that interacts with its environment. Study of causation, development, evolution, and function of behavior. Behaviorist= train-- applies ethology to real world situations. Ethogram= the catalog of behavior patterns of animal within their natural habitat or outside of it. Prioritization - the most important needs are taken care of first. e. g. hunger vs reproduction, survival vs exploratory. Altruism= works to carry on genetic traits/ conservation of genetics. Reproduce= in order to reproduce you need to be healthy- you need food. Most animals spend a lot of time looking for food. Homeostasis - constant, steady state, regulates body temp, water loss and gain, oxygen and carbon dioxide etc.
