Caused by rejection, separations, dissolutions of relationships. Extreme form of sadness caused by emotional loss. Negative state that results from the amount of contact you want from people vs how much you are getting. 5 main causes: lack of attachment, alienation (unneeded/socially isolated), lack of contact with people, dislocation (away from loved ones) Another person has caused you great levels of harm. When someone has something that you desire. Hurt can only come from people you care about. Emotion socialization and regulation in close relationships. Affected by: attachment to parental figure, temperament, and regulatory. Two areas that affect behaviors and attachment styles. Adaptations of emotion motivation and attention in varying situations. A person"s characteristic mode of responding to changes in environment. Occurs in individual domains that appear with age. Go from automatic to choices with age.
