Pregnant women will develop symptoms but really about developing fetus can cause miscarriages. Early onset: intrauterine sepsis, stillbirth or shortly thereafter. Late onset: meningitis between birth and 3 weeks. Later on in pregnancy or during delivery. Can swab and test different food products. Plated and held at 4* c to allow for proliferation. Susceptible individuals should avoid products made from raw milk, packaged shredded cabbage, cold cuts and salads. Cheese - shouldn"t made with pasteurized milk. Mild diarrhea or low grade fever (flu like symptoms) tired , back pain, headache. Can be much more severe in immunocompromised patients.
