Electrically pulses the heart to restart the normal beat of the heart. Blood must circulate throughout eh body to serve the needs of cells: o2 need, co2 removal, waste products. Blood flows within a closed circuit: blood goes around the circuit every 60-70 seconds, high pressure. Maintain a sufficient arterial blood pressure: as a consequence the following happens, ultrafiltration of blood, transport nutrients. Immune surveillance: cell-to-cell communication, maintenance of homeostasis. Heart acting as a mechanical pump produces: high pressure highest ever recorded in human was 370/360 mmhg, pressure is given as two pressures systolic/diastolic, blood volume is approx. 6% of body volume, 6-7 liters for a 150 lb male. Blood pressure is noted by the suffix tensions: hypertension higher than normal blood pressure, hypotension lower than average normal blood pressure, normotension normal blood pressure. When you apply force to a fluid you generate a counter-force known as pressure. Pressure is dissipated when fluid leaves the balloon.
