Odysseus comes back from the trojan war. Middle of the odysseys (book 12 of 24) Telemachus goes from ithaca, to pylos, then to sparta. Odysseus helped plunder troy through his idea of the trojan horse. Twists and turns= guile (hermes is maternal grandfather) Odysseus will leanr to use metis (guile) to control bie. Poseidon pursues family vendetta for odysseus blinding his son. Social order vs. disorder of nature- major theme.
