(mind is a part of the body?) Substance dualism vs. monism: physicalism (monism): physical stuff - located in space, dualism: immaterial mental stuff & physical stuff. It sure seems like they do casually interact: examples, mental to physical causation: hear insult -- fight, physical to mental causation: get injuries -- mind feel pain. Descartes on mind/body interaction: beyond saying that it thinks, he characterizes the soul negatively. Physical substance : physical property, mental property.
