Control (pertaining to chickens: diagnosis and death. Influenza - symptoms: headache, fever, tiredness, aches, vomiting, coughing, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat. Similar symptoms with rapid onset but subsides after 2-5 days. Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease caused by rna viruses of the orthomyxoviridae family. A(h1n1) virus is the same virus that caused the 2009 influenza pandemic (circulates seasonally) Two type b viruses were also circulating as seasonal influenza viruses, victoria lineage and yamagata lineage (named after the areas where they were first identified) Type c influenza causes milder infections and is associated with sporadic cases and minor localized outbreaks. Fowl plague is what we now know of as highly pathogenic avian influenza or hpai. Lpai: asymptomatic, respiratory, reproductive, usually low mortality, all subtypes, hpai, high death losses. Swollen waddles and combs: nervous signs, hemorrhages of legs. Lpai- respiratory tract, congestion and inflammation of the trachea and lungs.
