Architecture in a very systematic way, try to adapt it to a human scale. Perfect proportions in the human body, animals, and architecture. See the shapes, show the proportions of different parts of figures. Emphasis on upper section of building, how tall it is. Flying buttresses, wall from outward thrust of arches leading to regular buttresses. Patronage in the stained glass, images showing guilds which gave money for windows, coats of arms from nobility to show they gave money. Duomo (santa maria del fiore): with goberti , takes commission. Filippo brunelleschi- inventor of renaissance architecture, sculpture, competed. Didn"t know how to built it at this size. Covered in bricks to help with thrust. 2 compression rings- hold in lateral thrust, stone and wood.
