Usage of wanna and gonna are descriptive grammar rules. They are not proper english, but we use them when we speak. Four properties of human language: arbitrary, the sound and meaning pairs can be extremely random, rule governed, we use prescriptive grammar, as well as phonology, universal design, generative, you can produce completely new sentences with no maximum. Rules of syntax govern how words combine. Ex- i saw a good movie vs i saw a movie good. You can assign the agent and the action into the different words in a sentence even if you don"t know what a sentence means. Rule governed, needs to be in specific order. Rules governing meaning or content of word and word combinations. Through understanding world in linguistic word knowledge. Use of language to serve communicative functions, knowledge that allows socially appropriate use of language. For adults, the pragmatics have law that define efficiency of your language usage.
