Ragas (india)= collection of pitches with characteristic intervals and embellishments used as basis for melodic context. B: rhythm = systematic arrangement of musical beats, accents, and durations. Beat = steady rhythmic pulse, organized into measures usually. Meter = variation strong and weak beat (downbeat always strong); number and accentuation pattern of beats in measure.
